Mio marito è sempre stato verbalmente aggressivo, ma ha iniziato a picchiarmi a seguito di un problema di salute che l’ha portato a perdere il lavoro e iniziare a percepire una rendita di invalidità. Non dico niente a nessuno per venti anni. Voglio assicurare alle mie figlie un futuro in Svizzera, desidero che studino e che diventino delle donne indipendenti, non come me. Lo stato di salute di mio marito peggiora sempre di più, e ha la necessità di fare diversi interventi chirurgici. Mi accusa di essere la ragione di tutti i suoi mali, mi insulta quotidianamente, eppure faccio di tutto per lui. Passa le sue giornate a spendere i soldi giocando d’azzardo online e a litigare con me e le ragazze. Una perizia medica psichiatrica fa emergere un disturbo bipolare. I medici riescono a tener a bada la situazione prescrivendogli dei farmaci, ma viene convinto dai membri della sua famiglia d’origine che queste pastiglie gli fanno del male, quindi cessa di prenderli. Un giorno dopo l’ennesima litigata violenta, mi butta a terra, mi trascina per tutta la stanza tirandomi dai capelli, e quando riesco ad alzarmi mi accoltella al petto. Fortunatamente la ferita è superficiale, ma le botte che mi ha dato alla testa mi procurano una labirintite da percosse. In ospedale faccio una denuncia. Ma la mia famiglia mi consiglia di tornare da lui, è un uomo malato… Decido di ritirare la denuncia e tornare a casa. Lui sembra diverso, si scusa, ha tante attenzioni, decide addirittura di darmi una carta per aver accesso al nostro conto bancario. Tutto ciò dura poco, e presto ho di nuovo dei lividi sul mio corpo. Continuo a resistere, prima voglio l’indipendenza delle mie figlie e poi me ne andrò. 2017: Durante l’ultimo ricovero in ospedale, mio marito mi ha fatto delle minacce di morte talmente serie e credibili che il personale ospedaliero ha deciso di coinvolgere uno psichiatra, che dopo aver parlato con noi separatamente, ha ritenuto troppo pericolosa la continuazione della nostra convivenza, sia per me che per le mie figlie. Ha quindi fatto una denuncia d’ufficio, ovvero una segnalazione al Ministero pubblico e ha attivato il Servizio d’aiuto alle vittime che mi ha proposto il collocamento alla Casa delle Donne. Accetto, faccio le valigie e la sera stessa vado via di casa. Dopo due giorni lui viene dimesso, al rientro a casa non trova nessuno, inizia a cercarci e continua a minacciare pesantemente sia me che le ragazze. Prendo contatto con un avvocato per avviare una procedura di separazione e per mettere delle misure protettive. Non si potrà avvicinare a noi nel raggio di 200m. Durante l’udienza in pretura si decide che sarà lui a restare al nostro domicilio. Gli avvocati di entrambe le parti sostengono che questa decisione permetterà di limitare la sua pericolosità. Io e le mie figlie troviamo un nuovo appartamento, lasciamo dunque la Casa delle Donne dopo un paio di mesi e iniziamo un nuovo capitolo della nostra vita.
